Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Risk Analyst/Consultant for our New Orleans, Louisiana office.
BASIC FUNCTION
Associate Risk Analyst / Consultant in the outsourced risk management department for a global hard rock mining company and Gulf of Mexico upstream operator.
Responsible for assisting with the placement, management and administration of global property, casualty, financial services, surety and marine insurance programs.
Attend loss control surveys at both domestic and international sites to identify and evaluate physical conditions, safety practices, and hazardous situations.
Assist with the handling of casualty, property, cargo and marine claims.
Evaluate contractual agreements to determine if the agreements effectively transfer, mitigate or avoid financial obligations and ensure agreements are in compliance with insurance requirements or restrictions.
Gather, organize and update exposure information in association with insurance placements during the policy period and for each renewal.
Assist with the premium allocation for various insurance placements.
Provide certification of insurance for vendors, joint venture partners, financial institutions and governmental authorities.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of insurance company operations, policies and procedures. General understanding of hard rock mining and offshore energy business risk and potential liabilities. Knowledge of pricing mechanisms used in insurance programs and alternative risk financing vehicles. Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills are needed. Presentation and communication skills needed to disseminate information to all levels of management and field offices.
2-4 years of risk management experience, exposure to the oil & gas and/or hard rock mining industries a plus.
Computer (Word, proficient in Excel and Microsoft Outlook) and office equipment skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to prepare administrative and technical reports.
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.

College degree
