Full-time Product Management Consultant

Allstate Insurance has an exceptional career opportunity for a Product Management Consultant in our Northbrook, IL office.

The primary goals of the department are to support and drive profitable growth and increase market share in the Midwest Region. This is being driven through specific price/product/risk management initiatives, market intelligence, local market planning, and policy adherence.

The scope of this position is to lead and support margin management analysis through the monitoring and communication of key measures of profitability by line and new business quality. The candidate will be responsible for root cause analyses using all available tools and resources available.

Key responsibilities will be:
Influencing, leading and communicating strategies to improve regional results for profitable growth
Perform detailed analyses on profitability and causes of margin pressure
Develop, communicate, and gain alignment on recommendations to positively impact profitability within a given state and line of business
Maintain key relationships with other departments that directly influence results
Leading across boundaries to provide support and influence our sales force, pricing, claims, financial managers, customer care unit, corporate relations, and risk management partners
Collaborate and interface with other departments and field/territory contacts for the improvement of financial results in assigned states or markets
Collaborate to set goals and measures of success for projects or initiatives
Monitor the results of implemented initiatives
Monitor new business trends to assess quality and effectiveness, as well as identify emerging issues

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must have/be:
A minimum three years of related insurance operations experience: pricing, underwriting, risk management, and/or competitor research
Bachelors degree in Insurance/Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related business curriculum preferred
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manipulate and analyze data, draw appropriate conclusions, and make actionable recommendations for change
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Business Objects; Access skills a plus
Familiarity with financial reporting including, but not limited to Profit & Loss Statements
The ability to facilitate training and the development of others
Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and ensure completion within set timelines.
