Full-time Accounting Analyst (Reinsurance Accts)

THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN SUWANEE, GA

Overview

Professionally and efficiently service reinsurance accounting activity on behalf of ceding companies and reinsurers. Act as a liaison by interacting with and provide assistance to external clients and reinsurers. Provide assistance to internal clients as well. 

Primary Accountabilities
Participate in verifying contract terms and accounting structure as entered by the Sales team in the computer system
Review assigned accounting documentation; verify information complies with terms and conditions of applicable treaties; review completeness of information and request additional information as needed
Assist in the processing of premium and accounts within established timeframes
Assist in preparation of periodic reports, term adjustments, sliding scale commissions, profit commissions, and retrospective premium adjustments for client’s approval or completion in accordance with contract terms
Maintain historic and electronic files
Research and reconcile accounting information using various systems and resources
Assist clients in compliance with state insurance regulations
Gather information to carry out the Letter of Credit (LOC) process
Work with other teams in obtaining year-end funding
Follow up with collections to ensure payment to the client on a timely basis 

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, strongly prefer related business major. Industry course work a plus. Prior reinsurance or insurance industry experience preferred (not a requirement).

Approximately 0-2 years directly related experience which demonstrates solid analytical/numerical skills
Proven detail-orientation and analytical ability whether academic or work related
Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment that also requires sharing information across department boundaries and with external clients as needed
Proficient with Word and Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills; written and verbal communications in order to interact with audiences in various communication modes, in addition to proven customer service excellence
Ability to work with minimal direction and in a time sensitive environment.
