Full-time Manager, Insurance and Risk Management

  • This position will be based in Philadelphia, PA until mid-2011, at which point Arkema Inc. will relocate headquarter operations to King of Prussia, PA. **

Arkema is recruiting for an individual to own the management of the Primary and Excess Property and Casualty program including collection, verification and preparation of specifications and underwriting information for presentation and underwriters. To be responsible for program design and administration, market selection, and policy documentation for coverage’s including employment practices liability, workers’ compensation, general liability, product liability, fiduciary, crime, pollution, and excess liability. Administer international coverage’s such as property, cargo, D&O, credit, and second and third layers of insurance. Communicate the Arkema Risk Management Program, and philosophy to Arkema operating entities in the US and Canada. Supervise and serve as technical resource to plant personnel and Risk Management personnel for the handling of Workers Compensation claims, General Liability, Product Liability, Asbestos, and ancillary claims. Manage the preparation and review of the annual actuarial study. Review agreements for Business Groups to ensure compliance with insurance requirements, and avoid improper assumption of risk. Assist with the preparation of the annual insurance budget and setting of reserves.

REQUIREMENTS:
· BA/BS in business or related field required
· CPCU or ARM designation desired
· Excellent communication skills, sound technical insurance and financial management skills
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Excellent negotiation and presentation skills and have the ability to work with domestic and international senior management
· Must have extensive experience within a risk management department of a corporation or with an insurance broker handling accounts or with a major insurance company.
· Experience managing captive insurance program preferred
