Claims Analyst (Reinsurance)

This position will be located in Minneapolis
Overview
Professionally and efficiently service reinsurance claims activity on behalf of ceding companies and re-insurers. Act as a liaison by interacting with and provide assistance to external clients and re-insurers. Provide assistance to internal clients, as well. Must be willing and able to travel as needed.
Primary Account abilities
Process claims within established time frames, monitoring and pursuing the timeliness of ceding companies’ reports and remittances
Maintain historic and electronic files on existing claims
Research and reconcile claim information using various systems and resources
Assist clients to comply with state insurance regulations
Gather information to carry out the Letter of Credit (LOC) process
Follow up with collections to ensure payment to the client on a timely basis
Provide assistance to sales team by participating in RFP’s and similar activities
Work with senior team members to identify and offer solutions to problems and disputes
Review internal statistical data
Organize, schedule and attend claim reviews, as necessary
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferably in business major such as finance, or equivalent direct experience in reinsurance industry. Industry designations in progress or completed certification strong plus. Prior related claims experience preferred.
Proven detail-orientation
Interpersonal skills to work in a team environment that also requires sharing information across department boundaries and with external clients as needed
Proficient with MS Office applications. Experience with other proprietary systems which demonstrate adaptability preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills; written and verbal communications in addition to proven customer service excellence
Ability to work with minimal direction and in a time sensitive environment.
