Truck Underwriter - trainee

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Review applications on new and renewal business for non-fleet accounts. Includes review of questionable MVRs, use of UWE for rating and completion of appropriate forms and checklists, issues filings and prepares Quick quotes. Assures policy coverage and issuance is in compliance with Internal audit procedures, Sarbanes Oxley regulations and applicable insurance department regulations.
2. Answer questions and consult with agents/insureds regarding policy coverage, driver problems and other related issues via telephone, email and other correspondence. Assist agents with marketing and sales to accounts.
3. Travel to agencies 2-3 days/month to develop agency relationships, conduct training as needed and complete customer visits.
4. Other tasks and meetings as assigned by underwriting manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (business or marketing helpful) or equivalent. Prefer course work and/or experience in insurance. Prior experience in sales or in a career where learned to talk with people and develop relationships helpful.
