Full-time Billing Services Unit Manager - Excellent Leadership

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Billing Services Unit Manager for the Whitehouse Station, NJ office.
Primary job responsibilities include:
1) Monitor staff performance and recognize group and individual contributions to overall results
2) Develop staff through effective communication, motivation, coaching and goal setting
3) Develop and implement plans to achieve successful results, propose solutions to support the Customer Service Center and Chubb Personal Insurance’s (CPI) initiatives
4) Promote positive team dynamics and staff engagement by encouraging innovative thought and the staff’s involvement in the decision-making process
5) Ensure delivery of customer service that meets CPI’s expectations
The Billing Services Unit Manager will lead 39 individuals, including two senior supervisors. Business partners include Underwriting, Marketing, Personal Lines Home Office, Premium Accounts Service Center, Treasurers, and Internal Audit. The incumbent will have responsibility for the following:
• Balancing
• Management of cash processing and collections
• Adherence to all internal and external compliance policies including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
• Ensure all required audits are conducted
• Deliver superior customer service to customers and agents for Billing and the Customer Care Team
• Drive the documentation, update, and implementation of workflows
• Drive efficiencies in process
• Analyze and trend results and adapt business plans accordingly to achieve optimum business results while providing superior customer service
A critical component of the position is people management. The incumbent must have demonstrated success in hiring, developing, and retaining talent. The Billing Services Unit Manager will ensure all individuals understand their job requirements and have the tools required to doing their jobs. The incumbent must adhere to all performance management guidelines including individual performance evaluations.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required
Competencies & Skills Required
• 5 – 7 years of people management experience required
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate employees (a team of 39 employees, including 2 senior supervisors)
• Proven customer service skills including the ability to resolve escalated customer inquiries with a sense of urgency
• In depth knowledge of billing practices
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people at all levels and influence business results
• Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis
• Demonstrated process and project management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent time management, follow-up and organizational skills
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
• Proven ability to exercise good judgment when making decisions
• Ability to establish department business plan and achieve results
• Ability to implement and influence change
• Intermediate MS Excel skills required: MS Access skills a plus
