Position Summary
This position will engage in targeted prospecting, including a high volume of outbound cold-calling, emailing and other forms of outreach to a variety of different potential clients in order to set up appointments for our practitioner and field sales people. Acts an advocate for Aon Consulting products in order to set up appointments. Records the results of interactions with prospects in a clear, concise manner for transition to the appropriate practitioner or field sales rep.
Job Responsibilities
Execute demand creation through cold-calling, emailing and other forms of outreach to potential clients in order to set up appointments. Must be able to develop a complete understanding of the services areas being sold. Must be able to expertly and efficiently communicate our value proposition to prospective clients.
Constantly and consistently represent the Aon brand by delivering world class quality on every outreach activity (calls, emails, etc)
Meets performance standards for team including quality, effectiveness, and efficiency, including the following: Meets and or exceeds daily productivity and efficiency goals. Meets or exceeds personal KPIs and metrics and acts as necessary to support team in meeting expectations for numbers of contacts, etc. Adheres to work schedule in a manner that supports volume goals
Documents conversations and appointment made in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with Aon procedures.
Completes hand off of clients within the period required by the inside sales team standards.
Participates in training initiatives to develop and maintain a sound knowledge base for each client served and each discipline supported
Develops in-depth knowledge of areas being represented for sale.
Requirements
Experience
2-3 years customer service experience (preferably phone) desired inside sales / cold calling.
Experience in health and benefits and/or defined benefit industry preferred
Skills
Excellent Written and Verbal Communications Skills: Conveys technical and non-technical information to prospective clients in a compelling, clear, concise and understandable manner; has the ability to concisely and accurately summarize a conversation and next steps.
Developing and Maintaining Relationships: Develops confidence and trust from various levels in the prospect organization. Establishes rapport with prospect. Additionally, develops strong relationships and partnerships with internal colleague.
Ethical Behavior: Adheres to professional standards and ethics and demonstrates the highest level of integrity and honesty in all interactions; Takes responsibility for own mistakes. Maintains truthfulness in prospect interactions to secure meetings.
Persistence and Perseverance: Ability to handle continual rejection and yet persist in executing calls with enthusiasm and purpose. Ability to motivate / inspire reports to do the same. Maintains composure.
Quality Orientation: Focuses team on creating quality meetings for sales staff, not just high quantity of meetings.
Multi-tasking skills: the ability to move quickly between areas of focus and different prospects.
Business Acumen: Ability to learn and retain business knowledge. Acts as an expert in Aon’s offering to prospective clients.
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to work on multiple tasks; Ability to work under stressful situations; Ability to bend and stoop in order to file and shelve; Ability to effectively communicate via telephone; Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time; Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds; and ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office.
