Personal Lines Appraiser position

The Houston office has a Personal Lines Appraiser position available.
Core responsibilities of the Appraisal role are to analyze and develop the replacement cost of high valued homes and provide detailed reports regarding risk acceptability. This includes visiting with clients in their homes to determine replacement costs, evaluate adequacy of alarm systems, and make safety recommendations. Create risk assessment reports to be used by underwriters, agents, and insured’s. Based on an insured’s possessions and lifestyle, identify and effectively market the need for additional Chubb coverage’s. Develop and make presentations to agents about the appraisal service to support local marketing efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess prior insurance experience, and be a highly motivated individual with the ability to deal with a wide variety of people. An interest in architecture or construction or fine art is desired, and an aptitude for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting information is critical. Must have ability to adapt to new ideas and situations; demonstrated ability to manage relationships with customers; resourcefulness and initiative in pursuing continuous learning to improve skills. Strong customer service skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills, as well as excellent mathematical skills are critical, as well as excellent time management and planning skills. The ability to work both independently and as part of the appraisal team, including remote dispatch is required. Must have the ability to develop relationships with marketing, underwriting and key agents. Valid driver's license and safe driving record is required.
Willingness to travel, as occasional overnight visits are required. The successful candidate will possess prior Insurance background. Strong consideration will be given to experienced Insurance Appraisers interested in the Collector Services Program/ Property Claims professionals with an interest in a Technical carrier path or Underwriting, must be mobile, and willing to relocate if necessary.
