Chubb Specialty is looking for field Underwriter with a minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience for our San Francisco Office. As a CSI underwriter in Chubb's San Francisco Branch you are responsible for a book of business in a highly competitive and challenging marketplace. The Underwriting position in San Francisco will handle a defined group of San Francisco and Northern California Agents along with a small renewal Executive Protection book in Los Angeles.

Key Accountability

•Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention, and growth, of a $3 million renewal book of specialty commercial business consisting of Executive Protection including Private and NFP D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime Kidnap, Ransom, Health Care D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime Kidnap Ransom, Chubb Pro which includes Miscellaneous E&O, Cyberliabity and Media. Knowledge of Investment Advisors E&O is a plus. Job requires generating a minimum of $800k to $1M in new field business for these lines.
•Successful market penetration and agency management including building, maintaining and managing producer and customer relationships. To ensure exposure to the various types of distribution, this position will be assigned all 3 types of agents - national brokers, field wholesalers and independent agents.
•Developing agency strategy and goals with continual monitoring of progress and usage of Salesforce
•Identifying cross sell opportunities within commercial products and services
•Soliciting, selecting and analyzing risk within Chubb Specialty Insurance guidelines and ensuring proper documentation
•Developing and negotiating price, coverage, and terms and conditions for all new business and renewals and actively identifying account rounding opportunities
•Meeting with producers and renewal customers to make sales presentations including product education and new product roll out
•Collaborating with cored resource underwriters (SRC, USB and wholesale), operations, claims, marketing and home office product management
•Consistently meeting service standards
•Collecting and sharing industry intelligence with team, including industry trending and development

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
•Solid knowledge of specialty commercial underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices
•Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling professional lines coverages
•Strong analytical skills including financial analysis
•Demonstrated proficiency in sales, marketing and negotiation
•Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
•Experience developing and executing on marketing plans and prospects
•Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment
•Sound, balanced, and timely decision making skills
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
•Experience underwriting professional coverages
