Financial Accountant w/ 1-3 yrs Experience - Corporate Accounting

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Corporate Accounting Financial Accountant for the Warren, NJ office.
Position Description:
The Financial Accountant will be working both independently and with the Corporate Accounting team, prepares and/or assists in the preparation of various financial reports and schedules, including the annual report, the SEC quarterly Form 10-Q filing, the quarterly management book, earnings release, various schedules for the SEC annual Form 10-K filing and footnotes for inclusion in the annual report. On a monthly basis responsible for compiling, recording and analyzing stock transactions of The Chubb Corporation and calculating average shares for the earnings per share calculation. Responsible for responding to ad hoc requests for information, special projects and assisting in other tasks during each quarterly and annual close.
Competencies / Technical Skills:
• 1-2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel requires and PeopleSoft general ledger skills a plus.
• Good problem-solving, research and documentation skills required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to effectively work on several projects concurrently.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• GPA of 3.0 or above overall and in major.
