Currently, Chubb is seeking a Financial Property & Casualty (FPC) Production Underwriter for its Cincinnati, OH location. The Cincinnati Branch Office covers the states of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The Cincinnati Region includes offices in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Louisville.
This position would manage approximately $4.5 million written premium and 17 renewal accounts, while prospecting, marketing and working with two high level Underwriting Associates to produce between $1.5 million and $2 million in new business annually for the following branches: Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Indianapolis, and Louisville.
Current customer and prospect opportunities include banks, insurance companies, financial advisors, real estate, community banks and credit unions for Property & Casualty Lines. As part of the Cincinnati Region, it is important to note that this position would also have responsibility for one large agency that represents an $8 million credit union book in our Commercial Lines Department. For this agency most new lines are quoted by a high level Underwriting Associate and most renewals are quoted by a team in an Underwriting Center. However, this role will include marketing to this one agency, meeting that agency's needs, assisting with conflict resolution, developing a marketing plan and identifying and implementing an effective account rounding technique for this book to further grow it and improve the hit ratio on current quote activity.
In regard to the remainder of the agency plant in the Cincinnati Region, this underwriter would be responsible for larger account renewal quoting, new business acquisition, travel throughout Cincinnati as well as to Cleveland, Louisville, Indiana and Columbus. This position would develop a business plan including aggressive travel and marketing of the Financial Institution brand in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Other responsibilities would include account rounding Credit Union and FPC opportunities, marketing to our key FPC and Credit Union agencies to initiate a "last look" for new business, training on FPC for both our Credit Union and Retail Agencies on Chubb's product advantages in this market segment. The role would be accountable for developing a more aggressive growth strategy for our key Credit Union agency and working with the CCI managers in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Indianapolis, as well as with our home office, to identify and increase our marketing efforts for this profitable segment in the Region.
Job Requirements:
Requires a minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience and excellent sales skills.
Requires the ability to manage in a fast paced environment, the ability to work on a team with high level Underwriting Associates and Commercial Lines managers to develop FPC strategy for the Region.
Candidate should have a proven track record of success in building relationships with agents, developing prospects and managing expectations of multiple stakeholders.
Candidate should be familiar with developing marketing plans and handling larger accounts as well as have a high level of professionalism. Must have strong negotiation, communication and time management skills and a comfort level with traveling throughout the three state area.
