Currently we have an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Broker (Financial Services Group) in our Minneapolis, MN office.
This role will be involved in placing Professional and Management Liability insurance coverage for large clients with medium to high complexity. Initially will assist brokers and be responsible for delivery on projects, consistent with our operational excellence. Once coverage competency, knowledge of markets and relationships are developed, will independently broker less complex accounts. Must have the ability to sustain both market and client relationships along with advancing insurance knowledge base.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establishes client facing skills including effective presentations & communications
- Establishes ability to work with moderately complex accounts
- Effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices & processes
- Emerging coverage competency, knowledge of markets and relationships
- Possesses basic competency on assigned coverages (common forms, exclusions, endorsed enhancements)
- Possesses & utilizes basic negotiation skills for the brokerage process
- Participates and promotes pre and post placement servicing (premium financing, claims, etc.)
- Actively seeks out new and challenging projects
- Mentors entry level brokers
- Established team player and emerging internal network
SPECIAL SKILLS:
P&C Licensed a plus, must be able to obtain a P&C license.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
up to 5 years of work experience preferred
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree or. J.D. or M.B.A. a plus.
