Human Resources – Finance – Accounting - Retirement Plans Analyst
Frenkel & Company, Inc., an international brokerage firm established in 1878, is looking for a Human Resources Retirement Plans Analyst for our New York City, NY location.
The identified candidate will spend 60% time at the client and 40% at the main office. This position supports approximately 100 locations.
Essential Functions:
In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited, to the following job duties:
Regular interaction with the 401K Administrator at each of the participating affiliate organizations on all aspects of the plan administration.
Requires Series 6 and Series 63 licensure.
Manages the non-discrimination testing, payroll interface, works with auditors on the annual Retirement Plan audit, assists employees with questions, arranges Retirement Plan Fiduciary Committee meetings, files 5500s for PPFA and the 49 participating affiliate organizations, and works with the ERISA counsel.
Interfaces with the Retirement Plans record-keepers, Fidelity & Mutual of America.
Other responsibilities include supporting the Compensation & Benefits Team in the administration of benefits and compensation programs.
Supports the HR Team on a project basis.
Oversees daily administrative activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and assists with related development, design and planning projects.
Manages the non-discrimination testing activities.
Assists in the distribution of the Summary Annual Reports (SARS).
Assists in the development and distribution of communication strategies for plan.
Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Series 6 and 63 licensure required
Minimum of three years experience in all aspects of administering Retirement Plans; strong math skills.
Above average skill in Excel, Word and a strong analytical ability.
Demonstrate a full understanding of the retirement plans (401K, 403B & 457B), plan objectives and the administration of the plans.
Able to apply knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulatory issues. Able to read and interpret plan documents, amendments, adoption agreements and summary plan descriptions.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, work autonomously and as a team member.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
