Full-time Insurance Personal Lines Customer Service Representative/Account Manager

Overall Purpose:

The Personal Lines Customer Service Representative/Account Manager will perform the essential duties of assisting producers in servicing a book of business, including new and renewal marketing and placement. The ability to cultivate new business with both existing and new accounts is also a critical function of this position. The individual who fills this position is the Personal Lines service link between the company, clients/prospects and the insurance carriers represented by the company. A consistently friendly, professional, customer service and sales oriented personality along with a positive, “can-do” cooperative attitude are paramount. (POSITION IS LOCATED IN ATHENS, AL).

Essential Duties:

1. Support producers by processing new business applications. This will include data entry of application information in multiple carrier systems and Agency Management System.

2. Collect complete underwriting information from walk-in/telephone prospects.

3. Professionally prepare and present complete insurance proposals to existing clients and prospects, as well as draft professional communications (i.e., letters, memos, emails, etc.)

4. Prepare and distribute new business and renewal policies to clients.

5. Conduct regular account reviews in an effort to improve client retention and sell additional insurance products (cross-selling and account rounding).

6. Maintain and foster existing client relationships as well as cultivate new relationships and sales opportunities with client prospects.

7. Conduct claims reporting and follow-up with clients and insurance carriers throughout the claims lifecycle.

8. Build and maintain rapport with producers, clients and insurance carrier personnel.

9. Collect, process, and record new business deposit premiums.

10. Reconcile monthly agency commission statements from multiple carriers.

11. Work on special projects that may be assigned by management as necessary.



Office Equipment / Software Used:

1. Microsoft Windows desktop computer – must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and other MS Office applications.

2. Inter-office network; Internet access; e-mail – internally, with carriers, and with prospects/clients/others.

3. Agency Management System (Doris) and related programs.

4. Comparative rating software.

5. MVR, insurance score, Clue report software/website.

6. Telephone, fax, copier, printer, document scanner.



Qualifications:

1. High school diploma (required); B.A./B.S. degree preferred.

2. Minimum of 5 years CSR/Account Management experience in insurance industry (required); experience in independent P&C insurance brokerage preferred.

3. Must have an active P&C insurance license (required).

4. Knowledge of insurance industry and specific working knowledge of personal lines insurance (required).

5. Ability to maintain and foster existing client relationships as well as cultivate new relationships with client prospects is critical to success.

6. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced sales environment is crucial.

7. Must be detail oriented, thorough, organized and efficient in executing tasks.

8. Excellent communicative skills, both orally and in writing are essential.

9. Takes the initiative to solve internal and external client problems.

10. Must possess a positive, motivational attitude; internally driven to succeed.

11. Anticipates and prioritizes responsibilities to meet critical deadlines.

12. Adapts quickly to change in systems, policies and procedures.

13. Continues to find ways to improve and streamline business processes and workflows.

14. Collects marketing data via phone calls and walk-ins to assess impact of marketing campaigns.

15. Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.

16. Consistently looks for new challenges and opportunities to add value to both clients and organization.
