Currently, Chubb is seeking a Workers Compensation Technical Assistant to work in Itasca, IL.
Position Description:
As a Workers Compensation Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for partnering with the Workers Compensation Claim staff to achieve established goals by providing superior customer service. Job responsibilities include processing incoming claim mail and faxes, screening a high volume of phone calls and taking and referring accurate phone messages and/or responding to inquiries as knowledge/experience permits. Additionally, you will be responsible for the accurate filing of mail in existing files, pulling files as requested and managing the monthly file purge process as well as corresponding with clients, injured employees or parties, adjusting staff and vendors while documenting all facts in the claim system. Inputting of payables in the claim system, managing funds, researching and resolving expense and payment issues/questions and filing Workers' Compensation forms for various jurisdictions
with completion of special projects/assignments as required will also be expected. Full utilization of technology while collaborating with team members to achieve customer satisfaction will be a critical success factor. All candidates will be tested in areas of numeric ability, reading comprehension and proofing.
Competencies/Tech Skills:
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to perform multiple tasks that may be complex in nature. Must be able to work independently and exercise excellent decision making skills. Strong communication, problem solving, interpersonal, organization, time management and prioritization skills are also critical. Position requires an ability to share knowledge within a team environment as well as effective communication with a wide spectrum of people both internally and externally. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation state form filing requirements is preferred. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and/or Lotus Notes is a plus.
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of High School diploma
• Experience providing customer service in a Workers Compensation Claim environment
