Currently, we have an exciting career opportunity for a Regional Risk Manager – Americas outsourced to LaSalle Investment Management (LIM) in downtown Chicago.

Position Overview
This is a professional position in a multi-national real estate advisory/investment management company. The position has a dual reporting line to e LaSalle Investment Management (LIM) and dotted line to the Director of Global Risk Management for Jones Lang LaSalle. The position will provide risk management advice and support to the Americas region and coordinate with Global Risk Management as required for projects and corporate program with limited travel within the Americas Region

General Requirements
Understanding of real estate operations and related risk management practices
Familiarity with established risk management practices; awareness of current risk management issues
Experience in managing insurance broker relationship
Awareness of current issues in the field of risk management
Excellent communication skills including the ability to: draft directives, effectively explain positions taken in conjunction with contract negotiations, explain technical insurance issues, discuss insurance and general business concepts relating to business documents, and negotiate effectively with attorneys and clients on behalf of the Firm
Establish excellent working relationships with brokers, insurer, vendors and clients
Ad hoc projects
Flexibility regarding assignments; responsiveness to the needs of the Firm and its clients

 Special Skills
General knowledge of insurance practices
Strong interpersonal skills; able to interface with all levels of personnel
Excellent negotiating skills
General knowledge of legal process; experience in working directly with legal counsel
Administrative and organizational skills critical; excellent time management skills, flexibility and management of a variety of tasks simultaneously is necessary

Job Tasks
Negotiation of insurance and risk provisions of client and corporate business contracts
Manage and renew existing insurance program for client and fund properties including appropriate contractual terms with clients and standard policy wording
Provide advice and guidance to property professional in relations to the procurement of insurances
Work with other regional risk managers on corporate insurance issues
Assist with identifying and implementing risk management practices for the Firm and its businesses
Manage regional data aggregation for corporate programs
Create and maintain a database of regional underwriting and locally-purchased insurance policies
Prepare a regional risk management manual and templates for risk operations
Analyze and assess regional claim and loss information
Provide support for enterprise risk projects as requested

Required Skills and Experience: 8-10 years' of general insurance industry experience with a minimum of 3 years in risk management environment.

Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Risk Management field. CRM, ARM designation, CPCU coursework a plus.
