Outside Property Claims Adjuster - 5+ yrs Commercial Exp Needed
at Chubb Insurance in Michigan

Currently, Chubb is seeking an Outside Property Claims Adjuster to join its Troy, MI team.
The Outside Property Claims Adjuster will:
• Analyze first reports to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided and scope of damage; promptly contact insureds
• Inspect and document damage, meet with the insured or their representative, promptly and properly develop the file to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis
• Maintain an active diary; monitor diary to achieve timely development of the file and disposition of the claim
• Recognize and pursue recovery where possible
• Adhere to all statutory regulations and the unfair claim practices act;
• Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers and travel outside of assigned territory to assist other offices with catastrophic events.
• Be expected to participate in CAT duty where he or she may be required to be away from home for up to 4 weeks per year
Required Competencies & Technical Skills:
• Candidates should possess a minimum of five to seven years of property claims adjusting experience with an emphasis in the commercial arena
• Knowledge of insurance contracts, investigative techniques, legal requirements and regulations
• Ability to work with a wide spectrum of people; develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers
• Ability to use Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and estimating software
• Knowledge of current construction methods and cost; ability to write own estimates and complete a dwelling and/or commercial building valuation;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Customer service orientation and strong analytical and negotiation skills.
