Risk Management Underwriter - 7+ Years Insurance Experience

Currently, Chubb is seeking a Risk Management Underwriter for the New York City office.
Position Description/Roles/Responsibilities:
• Handle large and complex Risk Management (large casualty) risks
• Identify local/regional market opportunities working with branch Real Estate Unit (REU) and Risk Management Group (RMG) staff and home office REU/RMG management
• Aggressively research and analyze risk management/casualty/workers compensation industry trends (insurance and customer) to stay current, and identify emerging issues affecting business plans, new product and service opportunities
• Initiate and sustain close relationships with CCI Property Real Estate accounts, producers, industry associations and specialized service providers, that directly enhance segment or Line of Business (LOB) standing
• Effectively market and support CCI RMG, CCI REU, and LOB product and service initiatives
• Collaborate with Loss Control, RMIS Dimensions Division, Chubb Services Corporation, Chubb & Son Claims Department, CCI REU, and other Chubb business units to implement CCI RMG or LOB business plans, and service standards
• Initiate and support ways to exploit, promote and utilize for competitive advantage Chubb’s global capabilities
• Accountable for achieving assigned goals for underwriting profit, premium rate change, and written premium growth.
• Responsible for overall management of all assigned renewal accounts
• Point person for all new business production, and sales and marketing within assigned zone/region
• Must have exceptional documentation and risk analysis skills
• Interpret and compare global coverage and exposures in multi-jurisdictions, while complying with all regulatory mandates
Book Management/Pricing Skills:
• Utilize current data and initiate customized information to interpret pricing and exposure trends in RMG account management process
• Initiate and execute appropriate actions to sustain profitability of the RMG Book
• Develop pricing proposals utilizing advanced techniques (SMART, losspick, WC medical bill re-pricing)
• Recognize and evaluate the impact of risk transfer and various pricing mechanisms, and recommends appropriate action to enhance long-term profitability of CCI RMG book.
Consulting:
• Offers creative solutions that contribute to achievement of CCI RMG business results
Risk Selection:
• Recognize and advocate certain expectations to underwriting standards and create viable options
• Assesses rate adequacy of CCI RMG book relative to exposure assumed
Client Management:
• Execute interactive process of developing and satisfying expectations of existing and prospective producers/customers consistent with Chubb’s underwriting objectives
Competencies/Technical Skills:
• 7+ years overall insurance experience
• Experience underwriting Risk Management (large casualty) commercial risks
• Strong marketing, sales and presentation skills are required
• Proven track record in developing strong broker relationships
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Must exhibit solid team orientation with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing business environment
• Ability to work well internally with varying levels of zone/branch management and underwriting personnel on communicating CCI RMG and CCI REU appetite/issues
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Travel: Minimum of 30% travel within the United States.
