Position Summary:
Performs a technically accurate review of contractor estimates for the adjuster of the client.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and processes contractor construction estimates for technical accuracy; verifies calculations of building (i.e. roofing) diagrams.
Assists contractors with correct estimating methods and revisions to original estimates.
Reviews supplements to contractor estimates and checks them against original estimates.
Records estimate review information in estimating software system.
Contacts adjuster for specific client coverage issues and comments on specific review items.
Interfaces with Call Center, insured and contractor to set up meeting when necessary.
Verifies pricing database for accuracy and consistency during reviews.
Re-prices estimates into pricing database.
Rewrites estimates into estimating software format.
Notifies District Managers or other departments of specific contractor issues.
Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma; additional post-secondary schooling preferred.
Minimum of two years experience in construction industry and/or in property adjusting.
Minimum 3 years experience as an Estimate Reviewer I.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of estimating structure repairs.
Detail oriented and good organizational ability.
Ability to work and communicate with others.
Good communication skills.
Computer literate with knowledge of e-mail and the internet; ability to learn a wide variety of company specific software programs.
Understanding of insurance terms, principles, concepts and practices.
Decision Making/Interaction:
Frequent interaction with District Managers, adjusters, contractors and insureds externally and internal departments. Contacts are primarily to exchange information to solve problems, but may involve negotiation.
