Environmental Underwriter - 3+ Years Experience Needed
at Chubb Insurance in New York

Currently, Chubb is seeking a CCM Environmental Underwriter for the New York area.
This CCM Environmental Underwriter Position is accountable for:
• Financial performance, including profit, rate, retention and growth of a multi-year in-force book, including Environmental site and contractors coverages (new and renewals)
• Identifying opportunities for growth within new and existing production sources; New business expectation of roughly $2MM
• Successful market penetration and agency management including building, maintaining and managing producer relationships, majority of work will be in the NYC area
• Identifying cross sell opportunities with other Chubb underwriting practices, account rounding and joint marketing
• Soliciting, selecting and analyzing risk within Chubb Wholesale Insurance guidelines and ensuring proper documentation
• Developing and negotiating price, coverage, terms and conditions for all new business, renewals and actively identifying account rounding opportunities with the New York Chubb office
• Meeting with producers to give sales presentations; including product education
• Collaborating with Underwriters, Operations, Claims, Marketing and home office Product Management
• Consistently meeting service standards
• Collecting and sharing industry intelligence with team; including trending and development
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices
• Demonstrated technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling Environmental accounts
• Experience with work requiring strong analytical skills including financial analysis
• Experience with work requiring strong proficiency in sales and marketing
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of insurance Broker/Agents
• Experience developing prospects
• Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment and keep a positive attitude
• Sound, balanced and timely decision making skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-4 years of experience underwriting, at least 2 yrs Environmental background
