PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To monitor team and colleague technical and quality activities with a focus on trends and quality compliance; to recommend office needs for training to management; and to plan and initiate appropriate actions facilitating overall office performance, development and improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers the Office Audit Tracking System (Oats) program; conducts local office file audits.
Presents audit findings and results to local, regional and national management.
Assists Operations managers in coordinating and implementing national quality initiatives at the local level.
Manages and coordinates training and improvement activities needed to meet established operational and technical audit requirements.
Manages colleague coaching, mentoring, and group training as needed.
Manages new colleague training.
Provides supervisors with objective colleague quality measurements for use in the Shared Achievement Feedback Exchange (SAFE) program.
Participates in quarterly national Total Performance Management (TPM) review meetings with national TPM and Quality leaders.
Conducts training during regional claims school quarterly.
Maintains technical claims and jurisdictional expertise.
Supports the Total Performance Management initiative.
Travels as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.
Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.
Provides support, guidance, leadership and motivation to promote maximum performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Licensing: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university preferred. Professional certification such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years claims management and two (2) years supervisory experience required. Two (2) years service with the company preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of claims management practices and procedures
Strong understanding of quality and auditing processes
Good adult learning skills
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Leadership, management, and motivational skills
Analytical and interpretive skills
Strong organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
