Currently, Chubb is seeking an Attorney for the Philadelphia, PA office.
Job Description:
An attorney with 1 – 3 years of general experience in the areas of property & casualty insurance and contract law. The individual must have judgment and interpersonal communication skills to work well as a member of a team in a collegial environment. This attorney will be responsible for defending general liability litigation in state and federal courts. Specific duties will include: trial work; conducting and defending depositions and engaging in other pre-trial discovery; drafting pleadings; engaging in motion practice; researching, briefing, and arguing appellate matters; negotiating settlements; generating reports and evaluations on assigned cases. Must be literate in WestLaw.
Job Requirements:
Should have prior insurance defense experience. Must have strong knowledge of current procedural and substantive law, as well as federal and state laws. Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics. Must have an ability to apply analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues. Must be able to proactively communicate with clients, claims staff, and other members of House Counsel. Candidate should have a valid PA driver’s license.
Education:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
