Full-time Casualty Specialist - Specialty Claims Service Center

The Casualty Specialist is designed to support the Specialty Best Practices strategy by effectively providing technical expertise, coaching and guidance in highly influential areas in the management of Specialty claims. This role will be responsible for the development and adherence of several major areas of measurement within Specialty claims within the Specialty Claims Service Center. The candidate should possess strong coverage analysis skills, and the ability to identify viable opportunities for third party contribution in order to properly assess and mitigate Chubb's exposure. Effectively develop claim management strategies associated with providing direction on claim and resolution strategies that have been supported with a highly effective investigative plan throughout the life of a case. Candidate will collaborate with Global Claim Center Manager and Specialty Claims Service Center Manager to ensure effective implementation of position within unit.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Active engagement in key trigger points as outlined in Specialty Best Practice primarily associated with Other Insurance, Development of Case Strategies and Negotiations, but not limited to these areas.
• Place required cases on a double diary to monitor case.
• Review and provide direction on all allocation issues.
• Assess potential implications of other insurance issues within coverage trigger points as outlined in guidelines.
• Review of reserve analysis in assessing investigation conducted to date and provide direction to examiner and supervisor.
• Review cases in which a demand is received by plaintiff or the insured to ensure meaningful strategy is recognized and developed.
• In conjunction with the Specialty leadership team, conduct random reviews that assess progress of staff and compliance of all Best Practice requirements. Provide feedback when appropriate.

Competencies Required:
• A minimum of 5-10 years of Casualty Claim Experience that includes the effective execution and delivery of Casualty Best Practices results.
• Demonstrated skills in the development of effective negotiation and case resolution strategies.
• Comprehensive understanding and ability to effectively interpret coverage scenarios that would involve multiple policies and contribution.
• Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
• Leadership and coaching skills that effectively identify staff development opportunities.
• This role reports to the Specialty Claims Service Center Manager.
