Chubb Accident & Health IT has an opening for a Programmer Analyst for our Whitehouse Station, NJ office.


Position Responsibilities

As a Programmer Analyst, you are accountable for:

•Implementing technical requirements as part of the application development process
•Code development related to adding or changing functionally in the Accident & Health Administration System
•Communicating with team members, business owners/analysts, technical governance and support personnel as required
•Providing support to the Accident and Health business partners
•Documenting detailed business/technical requirements and acting as a principal facilitator with the business partners
•Ensuring delivered functionality meets the quality and functional specifications of the business partner
•Unit testing of related programming changes
•Understanding the user's current working practices, analyzing the business/user requirements and translating those into functional requirements, performing a gap analysis between the identified requirements and the application and recommending appropriate solutions
•Develop an understanding of Business objectives, development tools, and technologies used in the Chubb Accident & Health IT unit.


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

-Java Practical experience in design, development, and deployment of Web based business systems
-Strong Java programming skills
-Experience using Integrated Development Environments (IDE), practical usage of Rational Application Developer would be a plus
-Good understanding of Object Orientated development methodology
-Experience in Accident & Health insurance systems is a plus
-Experience working with relational databases, preferably DB2
-Ability to think about problems and solutions from a broad perspective
-Ability to multi task and work independently
-Good listening, written and oral communication skills
-Strong facilitation skills to effectively lead a group to consensus, solve problems, and accomplish assigned task
-Ability to perform analysis in resolving business, workflow, and technology issues

Education and Experience:
•College degree or equivalent work experience
•Minimum three years of Java programming experience
•Practical experience working in a team environment
