Full-time Claims Representative - Field Appraiser

at Plymouth Rock Assurance in Massachusetts

We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic team player with a minimum of 3 years of physical damage appraising experience. A MA auto appraisers license is also required. This person is responsible for handling auto physical damage losses in the field. This individual will prepare damage estimates, re-inspect repaired vehicles and issue field drafts. A strong interest and/or experience in automotive-related fields is necessary.

A good match for this position will be familiar with the Massachusetts Automobile Policy including all first or third party damage coverage. Strong customer service and organizational skills are required, good verbal and written skills are also a must.
 
Duties:
Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements on partial and total lossses within established authority level
Issue drafts to the appropriate parties
Document the claim file as necessary
Complete reinspections and supplements in a timely manner and in accordance with all guidelines
Comply with all production standards and estimating guidelines
Ensure that service, expense control and public relations are maintained at all times
Complete reports on investigative assignments
Participate in team meetings
Participate in catastrophic claim handling when requested. This may include overnight travel for extended periods of time
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or a minimum of two years related experience, Valid MA Driver's License

The ideal candidate should be a self starter and is able to handle high volume and multi-tasks. Strong knowledge of appraisal processing and familiarity with handling claims via a computerized claims system is preferred. A valid driver's license is a must.
