Currently, Chubb is seeking a PMM Underwriter for the Western Underwriting Center, located in Phoenix, AZ. An overview of job responsibilities and requisite skills are highlighted below.
Position Responsibilities:
This position supports the achievement of the PMM underwriting goals related to profit, customer service and producer relationships.
Major Responsibilities:
-Underwrite and negotiate renewals and endorsements with a total premium of $5,000,000 to $6,000,000 commercial lines book of business
-Lines of business include property cargo, inland marine, boiler and machinery
-Handle a customer count of 300 to 350 accounts
-Achieve favorable retention within given territory
-Marketing and servicing accounts based on Chubb guidelines
-Develop strong relationships with independent agents and brokers in order to successfully manage our business which may require travel to producer locations
Skills and Competencies:
-Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate on all levels and develop producer relations
-A strong track record of service orientation is required
-Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting and pricing strategies
-The aptitude to attract and retain profitable business is essential
-A solid background in risk analysis is essential
-Candidate must have strong interpersonal and written communication skills
-The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment in conjunction with service staff, loss control, field marketing underwriters and branch employees is essential
-The ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment is crucial
Education and Experience:
-Two to five years of property, inland marine cargo and/or multi-line underwriting experience is required
-Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
