Managing Director-London Insurance Market Claims Operations

Position Summary:
Reports to VP, Operations and assures satisfactory long-term growth consistent with division objectives by delivering quality services at sufficient production levels and by effectively, managing expenses; identifies market opportunities; and collaborates with sales team to market BPO services to ensure maintenance and growth of revenue.
Responsibilities:
Provide direction and supervision to Team Managers.
Recruits, hires, and evaluates performance of division employees.
Communicates and enforces ethical business practices and compliance with laws and regulations of jurisdiction.
Maintains product quality through compliance with service standards and client instructions.
Completes file re-inspection and audits as requested.
Establishes and oversees clear objectives with respect to open case inventory with proper and timely closing and billing of files.
Establishes clear objectives with respect to revenue and gross profit growth, billing processes, collections, and meeting division Days Sales Outstanding objectives.
Monitors accounts receivable to encourage positive cash flow and to minimize aged accounts receivable.Monitors and improves efficiency of division operations.
Upholds and projects the corporate image by participating in industry organizations and functions.
Evaluates and recommends continuing professional education of Service Center personnel.
Maintains personnel records and approves salary adjustments.
Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.
Participates in special projects or performs duties in other areas as requested.
Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, sales, marketing, or risk management, advance degree in business or marketing desired. Professional Designations a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
Solid understanding and knowledge of Excess & Surplus lines market, especially Lloyd's, London
Solid understanding of bordereaux's and various reporting into the Lloyd's market
Maintain a solid understanding of binding authorities
Experience with reading and understanding insurance policies, including manuscript forms
Operations, process and technical knowledge.
Management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good analytical ability and mathematical skills.
Business development and sales skills.
Ability to effectively manage, supervise, and develop employees.
Thorough knowledge of services being delivered by business process outsourcing (BPO) model.
Ability to effectively manage a budget and the profit and loss of an operation.
Personal computer skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal capabilities.
Experience:
10+ years senior claims operations management experience.
Decision Making/Interaction:
Decisions require balancing what may be seen as conflicting interests. Constant interaction with internal and external customers.
Special Requirements/Certifications/Continuing Education:
Licensing as required by state and local jurisdiction; must have a valid driver’s license.
Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
